Leadership contingency theory

Contingency theory of leadership is also known as "situational theory of leadership". A kind of leadership theory. It came into being in the 1960s and early 1970s. According to the theory, there is no absolute best way to lead. Leadership is a dynamic process of interaction between leader, led and environmental factors. Leadership effectiveness =f(leader, led, environment). The effect of leadership is related to the specific situation and environment of the leader. Must decide the leadership way according to the concrete situation. The fidler model is the most representative contingency theory. It also includes: house's channel-goal theory, fromm and yeaton's leader-participation model, kaman's leadership life cycle theory, redding's three-dimensional leadership theory, boworth and shisholl's four-dimensional leadership theory, and r. tannenbaum's continuum theory of leadership behavior.
